Ebbs and Flows

“Ebbs and Flows” by Christopher R. Lee

The joy of laughter rings in a sound.

The smiles that glow and light up a face.

Love is abound and relationships grow.

And the scratch of my pen continues to flow.

The crack of the thunder and pouring of rain.

The cold of the wind sending chills down my leg.

The smell of the leaves as they sail through the air.

And the scratch of my pen continues to flow.

The park full of kids who run all around.

The cars honk as they swerve in the town.

An elevator full of people in silence.

And the scratch of my pen continues to flow.

The world breaks through hearts that are hard.

Friends become strangers who rarely are heard.

Family is something that’s harder to see.

And the scratch of my pen continues to flow.

Hope is not lost to those who believe.

Peace can be found in the smallest of things.

Love can come when you thought all was lost.

And the scratch of my pen continues to flow.

In the good and the bad, in all in-between.

The smiles and the tears and all that’s unseen.

Joy is available if you search through it all.

While the scratch of my pen continues to flow.
